About the Gaudeamus Award
The annual Gaudeamus Muziekweek focuses on music by young composers. The Gaudeamus Award was first awarded in 1957 to Peter Schat. The Gaudeamus Award, is a commission of €5000 for new work, meant as a help in the career of the composer. This commissioned work will premiere during Gaudeamus Muziekweek. Since 2014, the Muziekweek is preceded by the Gaudeamus Muziekweek Academy, which is a hands-on program where the nominees work extensively with the ensembles that will be performing, and often times premiering, their pieces.

For more information about the award and our festival please visit our website, and follow us on facebook, instagram, and twitter. See you in September 2017!

All the best,
